Electrolytic copper foil is a core material in the new energy and electronic information industries, primarily used in printed circuit boards (PCBs) and lithium-ion batteries, and its applications are continuously expanding into high-end applications such as high-frequency and high-speed applications, chip packaging, and solid-state batteries.

Electrolytic copper foil is a key material in the manufacture of copper-clad laminates (CCLs), printed circuit boards (PCBs), and lithium-ion batteries. PCBs are widely used in communications, computers, consumer electronics, automotive electronics, aerospace, and many other fields.

 

As the negative electrode current collector in lithium-ion batteries, the demand for lithium-ion battery copper foil has surged with the rapid growth of the new energy vehicle and energy storage markets. This material has been applied to many high-end consumer electronics products, such as foldable screen phones.

 

In high-end applications, high-frequency and high-speed copper foil (such as the HVLP series) is used in AI servers and 5G communication equipment; carrier copper foil is used in chip packaging substrates, gradually achieving import substitution; and for solid-state batteries, special electrolytic copper foils with porous or three-dimensional morphologies such as star foil, atomized foil, and core foil have been developed. As a high-value-added product, AI electronic copper foil has broad application prospects in the field of computing infrastructure.

 

In terms of application structure, printed circuit board (PCB) applications account for approximately 80% of the total consumption of electrolytic copper foil, while lithium-ion battery applications account for approximately 20%, and this proportion continues to rise.
